Quick update
Just time for a quick update.
This is a shot of neulasta.
When Rico leaves his chemo treatment they attract him this little box to him. Twenty seven hours later, it delivers a shot of super juice that gives his white blood cells the boost they need after being depleted. Itās less creepy than it sounds, but definitely still weird. Rico had a rough three days at home, but is on an upswing. Weāre starting to settle into the rhythm of the good days vs bad days. Itās not fun, but is a tiny bit predictable, which brings some peace.
This is a key lime pie.
It was brought to us by one of Punkās teachers. There was also Thai chicken, and teriyaki chicken, organic green beans, sticky rice, wild rice, and pistachio ice cream this week. There was a box of old fashioned candy sent from New York. We are so grateful to the people who brought us food this week. I think we might have starved without it.
These are flowers
from Emmett, one of Kookaās friends, who also delivered slices of homemade pie, and played guitar in our living room - allllll things that made the week so much better.
A tornado came through our town tonight. Four touched down nearby - at least that is what we have heard. We are safe. So many people we love have damage to farms, homes and businesses. Our hearts are with them, and we wish we could do more to help right now, especially when so many people are reaching out to help us. If youāre a helper, or a prayer, please keep them in your hearts.
