Summer 2018

If I’m being honest, Road Trip 2018 didn’t exactly feel like a vacation. There were schools to visit, ground to cover, deadlines to beat. Our roadtrips are usually whirlwinds, but this time was just different.

For obvious reasons didn’t have my usual mojo for silliness or videography or photos. We were on the run so much that we ate street food almost every day - (We're not talking hot knishes and steak kabobs - more like 11 hot dogs and hotel scrambled eggs in varying degrees of solidity). I am grateful for our family, for our ability to be together, to see new things and have new adventures, but for some reason, getting back to a warm cup of tea and a library was also pretty epic.

We did however, manage to capture a bit of summer: the Smithsonian museums, two Broadway shows, a day at the beach, hot chocolate samplers (I know it looks like we're doing chocolate shots with our seven year old, but it was cocoa - I swear it). There were walks in Central Park, the Spy Museum, Ford’s Theater, visits with good friends, trips on the subway, Italian ices, Rico’s elementary school, swimming pools, movie stars and all that stuff that makes memories memorable.

Spoiler alert - this is the only family video where Jason Sudekis and Will Forte make a guest appearance. Although we're attempting to book them for next summer's filming - the contracts are complex - enjoy what you get.
