public school

Homeschooling is easier - by far.

You'd think that sending your kid to public school would be an easy out - but nooooooooo.



It's much more difficult to write the math problems in the exact format that somebody ELSE thinks they should appear.  Or transport the musical instrument to and from school. Or cut the current events out of the newspaper instead of just discussing it at lunch time. 

Grrrrrr.

Or deal with a rude note on your kids coloring paper in kindergarten saying he sucks 'cause he didn't do the grass green & the sky blue. That's what a friend of mine is dealing with.

He also got suspended for "punching another child", but it turns out they were play fighting & both kids where laughing their butts off.

Yeah public school isn't easier at all.

Some times we just have to learn how to conform to other peoples paradigms. I know it's not always the easy way but it teaches us how to deal with others. I know weird for me to say this but a little conforming is good for all us. I'm sure once my kids are in school I'll say some thing different but learning to conform helped me learn to be a grow up in today's society.

Yeah - the worst part is, my kids have no issue with doing things the teacher's way or conforming when need be . . . it's ME! I'm constantly wondering why we have band lessons every sixth day - instead of every Tuesday. Or how come I have to buy a yellow notebook, when both Target and Walmart have deleted their supply. Or why I can bring homemade brownies to one kid's school, but not the others'. That crap drives me nuts!

By the way LB - tell me that it was not the teacher who wrote a nasty note on a Kindergartner's coloring paper. That is pretty sad.

I hear you. I didn't mean to offend you or any thing. I'm sure once my kids start school I'll be reminded on how dumb all the little rules are. I totally remember all the issues I had in high school. I hope both the kiddo's are surviving the grudge!

j - yep she wrote on his paper, in his first week of school that he needs to learn how to pick colors. he colored it so obviously he picked colors, he just didn't pick the ones she assume he should. the only instructions were to color the page, not color it the colors as we see in real life.

S - not offended at all - maybe just at myself for being so ADD that I cannot keep it all straight.

L - that is sad. Hope that kid grows up to be something amazing.
