it's been a while
So in case you read this (New York I'm looking at you), and are wondering where we've been, I have only this to say:
Who would've thought?
Tiny started a rock project this summer called "This Life Rocks". She painted rocks and hid them for people to find. People would tag her Instagram page when they found one. We traveled a lot this summer, so we dropped about 150 painted rocks between May and August.
But then something happened.
This thing took on a life of it's own.
A non-profit group in Minneapolis asked to do an event with her.
Then the newspaper ran a story.
Then a magazine.
Then she wanted to add a few things to the project - a kindness challenge, another event with some other groups, envelopes to hide inside with homemade pins.
Then one of her homemade videos got over six thousand views.
Then her Instagram numbers started rising.
Then she created a t-shirt.
Then people started sending stuff.
T-shirts.
Markers.
More t-shirts.
Books.
What.
The.
What?
I didn't know rocks were this big of a deal.
So that is why the blog has been a little undernourished lately. Tiny's been keeping me on my toes with videos and photos and thank you notes to people we've just met. She's loving it, and it's helping her get over her fear of speaking, so for now, we're gonna roll with it.
