Home

Rico is home from his third round of chemo. To say he’s tolerating this round much better would be a huge understatement. He’s been able to eat every day, drink every day, hold down conversations, and even spend some time alone which meant that Tiny and I got to visit my California cousin and see Kooka perform at the Mall of America.

We always keep our fingers crossed through the neutropenia that inevitably seems to follow him, but we’re hoping the preventative antibiotics they’ve got him on will help. (Though this particular antibiotic has the oddly specific side-effect of tearing your Achilles’ tendon, so we’re putting off our swing dancing until November)

Welcome home, Rico! Crossing my fingers and toes for no fevers this time.
