onward

 As some of you know, we are currently making our way towards heaven - at least that's what Rico called it. He said that when we died, he'd be waiting for us at Casey Key, Florida. It's the sweetest beach, where we spent our first New Year's day together, so it seemed fitting that we'd return on the 13 year anniversary, to scatter some of his ashes.

But honestly, we might get to heaven before we get to Casey Key.

The drive started out with ice storms, and a patch of black ice that caught our tire and pulled us across four lanes of traffic. We made to St. Louis, where the weather let up just enough to grab a Starbucks and see the arch. This was followed by continuous zero-visability rainstorms throughout the entire state of Tennessee, which forced us to make an early stop before we hit Georgia. But it's all good because that just prepped us for the tornadoes predicted as we drive through Atlanta tomorrow.

It's almost like the universe just doesn't want us to get this done. But we're feisty, and there's a Waffle House at every exit, so  - onward.
