The good stuff

There is good stuff.

I mean, in case you’re wondering, the rest of our life is really beautiful.

We had friends over for dinner on Saturday.
This weekend we made a family trip to see Punk and take he and his roommates out to lunch. Seeing him happy with actual books on his desk, a relatively clean house surrounded by good friends was a tremendous gift to us all.
Scrappy learned to “dance” and “salute” - don’t ask me how, or why for that matter. I know his breath smells terrible, we are missing half a bag of dog treats, and Tiny has been checking out every dog training book the local library has.
Rico is feeling as well as we can expect, not great - but able to do many things we normally do, which is wonderful.
We’ve raised about 18 monarchs this summer, and when the last one was born with crooked wings, we were able to feed him for a few days. We named him Chance, and though he wasn’t a great flier, we was an excellent climber.

Tiny’s godparents surprised her with an incredibly awesome Springfree Trampoline. She’s wished for one forever, and magically, perfectly they arranged to have it delivered, set up and ready to go before she came home from school on Friday. Rico and I have been so tired, but now we can sit on the porch and watch her and Kooka (and sometimes even me), bounce around for hours. She jumped for four hours straight the first night. It was exactly what we needed when we needed it.

But in case you’re wondering, we don’t need the in-ground pool, the entire litter of puppies, or the unicorn she’s been wishing for. The trampoline is enough wonderful for us right now.

I already put the order in for the litter of puppies - so sorry. They'll arrive soon. Glad you had a nice weekend. The porch must be a wonderful place to sit on these beautiful days :)

Oh, and I arranged for the unicorn, plus an entire truckload of sparkly, rainbow-colored hay to feed her. So there's that....
