the hair

Rico’s hair is sort of like Ariana Grande’s ponytail. It’s part of who he is. It’s no myth that he uses more styling products than the rest of us put together, so saying goodbye to his hair and beard was no easy task. But the last few days they were starting to go, so he decided he’d like the girls to help him shave it.

We faced-timed Leah and Punk, who offered moral support (and a few tips on how to use the razor). 

He stopped mid-way through for a punk-rock photo, but don’t be fooled - there were a few tears. I wasn’t going to take pictures, just have this moment be for him, for our family - to give him a chance to get used to it, but he said he wanted pictures. He wanted somebody else who was going through this to see that it was possible to find a way to live - really live, through even the tough parts of chemo.

He is the very best thing.
