too slow

Things progress the way they do with brain surgeries and biopsies and things that seem expedient and terrifying  - too damn slowly.

This week, Rico's older son Jason is here, so today all four of us took a day off. Noah spent the day with a good friend, Kaia had a day to relax, and I got to take Nika to a modeling job and out for a boba tea. (Photo is of her surprised face when she was working and found out that Scrappy got offered another modeling job too).

Rico is setting into the PT ward. Every day his periods of lucidity grow. At first there were none, then maybe 30 seconds, five minutes, and now he's doing pretty well for an hour or so. When he gets tired he gets pretty confused and needs to rest.

The medication he's taking to control his seizures cause some hyperactivity - which, I mean, good god - he couldn't sit still before the surgery. For the most part it's not a problem. But when he wakes up disoriented and decides he's got important $hi# to do, it could be dangerous. (Fun fact: if they put all four of your bed rails up in the hospital it's considered "restraint" so they won't do it unless it's absolutely necessary. )

He's been eating well, but it takes a while. He's also not supposed to talk when he eats - he's supposed to focus on swallowing the food. Ha.

Ha.

Ha.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA Ha Ha Ha Ha ha ha ha ha ha ,

If you've ever had a meal with Rico - you know.

This will never happen.

We will have final biopsy results in the beginning of June

He is definitely feeling your love. So are we. Thank you all.
