How much more

I keep track of every word, because I think it may be her last.

I combed her hair, and gave her a little sponge of water.

I was sure she had no more words, but still there was a "thank you."

I kiss her face and say, "Don't mention it."

The injustice of this is unbearable.

I want to know when the last time you slept was - starting to worry a little about you.

Well, I finally had an actual breakdown and stepped out to the lobby about 2 am last night. I fell asleep in the chair out there, because it was actually easier to fall asleep when I could hear life happening right outside the door. I am actually a little worried too. This is rougher than it's supposed to be. But she asked and I promised I'd be here.

I understand. I made that promise to my mom. It's brutal - physically, emotionally and spiritually. Sending you strength. If I could come and sit with her to give you a couple hours break, I would. You know how to reach me. I apologize for the three comments I deleted. It wouldn't let me post them, then it posted the same thing 4 times :) xo
